This is a list of the jobs that are proposed to be done next time we meet. It also contains a log of the jobs that have been done in the past.

Tools

The column Tools lists the tools that are required to complete the job but are not in the possession of EMRC. Tools that the club should have will be coloured grey. If you are able to supply any of the tools listed please let Glenn know.

Note that the date is flexible. The jobs may not be completed or even started on the date listed and this will be adjusted accordingly.

Help Wanted!

If you are able to assist with the construction of the Shelf Layout you will be most welcome. Remember that the layout is for the purposes of learning, so no one will get in trouble for making mistakes! The idea is to learn and enjoy building. You will gain valuable experience in layout construction, as well as fellowship with other club members.

Now Thursday Mornings

As we have moved to Tuesday nights, some members are having problems getting the clubrooms.

To solve the problem there is an additional session on Thursday mornings depending upon the demand. Sessions during on week nights (except Monday and Tuesday) are also possible. Please contact Glenn if you can attend.

    • Need to keep the curves away from each other as much as possible.
    • Plastic sleepers need to be cut away so that the rails can be soldered to a copper strip to be laid across the join.

    • Need to be staggered to avoid any point being on a join.

    • Bridge being purchased is only one track wide.

  •  Lay down cork for main line only.
  • Cork is being laid down for all lines and sidings.

  • Finalise deck lay down. 
    • Check that modules are flush at the joins.
    • Sand with a belt or orbital sander as required.
    • May be easier to remove the baseboard and then sand the ends until they are equal in height.

  • This short section needs to match the two adjacent curved sections.

    As for SouthEast it needs to be extended to meet with the adjacent module.
  • Use a piece of the 10mm ply as an end, leaving space to laminate an extension onto the end.

  • Made a start but having to put screws in by hand slowed things down. Should consider getting a club owned power drill/driver.
