At yesterday’s working bee, the standard gauge crossover deck was cut out. What started out as a large sheet of ply, yesterday morning, with the curve laid out on it, was reduced to what you see in the photograph.
The alignment post worked to make sure that the curved deck stayed in its correct alignment. The extra bits on each end of the curved deck will be cut off once the deck has its support structure in place, so that is the next task, to build the risers and fix them in place.
It looks good.
The pieces of ply that were cut off will be used to make the rest of the SG deck, before and after the crossover, it won’t go to waste.
